Course Title:   Communicating with the Public: Warning and Informing

Who Should Attend: This course is aimed at staff within Category 1 responders, particularly emergency planning officers and communication officers, who are responsible for developing and maintaining a strategy to communicate with the public prior to, during and following an emergency.

Aim: To assist participants in their development of a strategy for communicating with the public in all phases of an emergency.

Objectives:   By the end of the event delegates will be able to:

Pre-Requisites: Participants will usually have attended the Introduction to Civil Protection (ICP) course for a foundation in the Civil Contingencies Act and Integrated Emergency Management. However, delegates with appropriate experience should consult the attendance policy for information on exemption from ICP.
