Course Title: Planning for Mass Fatalities

Who Should Attend: Those with roles associated with planning for, and responding to, incidents involving large numbers of fatalities. Typically this brings together those from emergency services, local authorities, coroners/procurator fiscal (and staff), health services, ports, airports, transport operators, voluntary and commercial organisations.

Aim: To examine the key issues associated with planning for, and responding to, mass fatality incidents and situations.

Objectives: By the end of this event you will be able to:

• Describe the roles of your own and other organisations involved in planning for, and responding to, a mass fatality incident.
• Identify and describe the key considerations arising from a mass fatality incident.
• Outline the Central and Regional Government arrangements including the Mass Fatalities Workstream developments.
• Identify good practice and lessons learnt from previous events/incidents.
• Evaluate your own organisational arrangements.
