Course Title:   Emergency Control Centre Operation

Who Should Attend: This is aimed at those relatively new to the disciplines of control centre working and information management in an emergency context. It will develop the confidence and skills necessary for the individual to be an effective member of an emergency control centre team.

Aim: To equip you with the knowledge and skills required to manage information in a control centre environment.

Objectives: By the end of this event you will be able to:

• Identify the key requirements of an emergency control centre.
• Apply the main principles of good information management.
• Identify suitable technology for assisting with the management of information.
• Define the basic training needs of control centre staff.
• Process information received in different formats and turn it into usable intelligence.
• Accurately record information and keep logs.
• Deliver briefings to small teams.
• Evaluate the use of visual displays in an emergency control centre.
