Course Title: Tactical Leadership in Emergency Management
Who Should Attend:The course is primarily designed for those working in organisations that do not have a bespoke internal system of tactical emergency management training. However, those that do have their own tactical command programmes may wish to send delegates to experience the multi-agency dimension.
It will particularly suit members of local authorities and other agencies whose role is to represent their organisations at the tactical level of multi-agency emergency management.
Aim: To equip you with the knowledge and skills required to lead in the management of emergencies at the tactical level.
Objectives: By the end of this event you will be able to:
- Design and direct an information management system suitable for a tactical command centre
- Analyse and evaluate information in order to make effective decisions in a realistic exercise setting (where small group leadership is required)
- Demonstrate an awareness of leadership styles and their suitability in different situations
- Design and deliver effective operational briefings
- Explain the role of tactical command in the overall context of the local, regional and national emergency management structures and processes
- Evaluate the personal, professional and organisational challenges of leadership in emergency situations.
