Course Title: Emergency Management in Higher Education Institutes (Universities and Colleges)
Who Should Attend: This course is aimed at staff within Universities and other HEIs who have management or executive responsibility for pre-emergency risk assessment, emergency planning, managing emergencies and business continuity. This might include University senior management, Heads of Departments and managers of security, estates, and facilities.
Aim: To provide a foundation in the key aspects of emergency management relating to the estate, staff, students, business and reputation of HEIs.
Objectives: By the end of this event you will be able to:
- Describe the key elements of integrated emergency management.
- Describe the roles of the various organisations involved in co-ordinated emergency response.
- Assess the risks to your HEI’s estate, staff, students, business and reputation.
- Analyse the potential demands on your organisation in responding to, and recovering from, a crisis or emergency.
- Critically evaluate the effectiveness of your organisation’s state of preparedness.
- Identify and apply improvements to your emergency plans and procedures.
