Course Title: Preparing Emergency Plans for COMAH (and Other Major Industrial Accident Hazards)
Who Should Attend:
All those within local authorites, the emergency services, health agencies, central government and COMAH/Major Accident Hazard Sites who have responsibility for writing or overseeing COMAH and Major Accident Hazard plans. This typically also includes those with responsibility for pollution incidents, health professionals in communicable disease control and public health and all those with responsibility for COMAH and pollution on industrial sites.
Aim: To promote good practice in developing emergency plans for COMAH and other major accident hazards.
Objectives: By the end of this event you will be able to:
- Understand the key aspects of the COMAH regulations and related legislation.
- Understand the partnership approach required to create effective COMAH plans.
- Create on-site and off-site COMAH plans using guidance, plan templates and acknowledged good practice.
- Understand the links between COMAH plans and other emergency plans.
- Understand the cost recovery provision within the COMAH regulations and how to keep costs to a minimum.
- Understand the benefits of providing training programmes in support of the plans.
