Course Title: Defence Contribution to UK Resilience
in association with the MOD.
Who Should Attend: Those nominated by the military.
Aim: To provide a wider understanding of the roles, characteristics and responsibilities of the various civil and military organisations that could be involved in the response to a civil emergency or to a period of national tension, crisis or conflict.
Objectives: By the end of this event you will be able to:
- Describe the Central Government and regional and local arrangements and approach to resilience and Integrated Emergency Management (IEM)
- Describe the multi-agency approach and the role of Cat 1 and Cat 2 Responders at the local and regional level of response
- Describe the range and scale of military operations in the UK
- Describe the rules and conditions for Military Aid to the Civil Authorities (MACA)
- Develop a plan for a MACA task
- Describe the hazards and threats that challenge UK Resilience
- Describe the Chain of Command for UK Ops
