Course Title: Introduction to Managing the Care of People in  Emergencies

Who Should Attend: For Category 1 Responders who manage and plan service delivery in education, social services, housing, emergency planning, voluntary organisations, crisis support teams and Primary Care Trusts. Others may attend e.g. Cat 2 responders and voluntary organisations if they are involved in managing and planning service delivery

Please note - this course is NOT intended to provide operational training e.g. for rest centre managers.

Aim: To provide a foundation in the management of the care and welfare of their community for those with Civil Protection Duties.

Objectives: By the end of this event you will be able to:

Achieved greater understanding of emergency planning generally.

Pre-Requisites: If delegates have not previously attended ICP, the ICP pre-course reading should be completed so that participants are familiar with UK arrangements to respond to emergencies.

Progress: This event is a foundation level course, providing a basis for the more specialist events such as Recovering from Emergencies; Emergency Evacuation and Shelter; Emergency Reception Centre courses.
